Trinitas Chapel. It's a Catholic place of worship. But it has been the spiritual home for our students Catholic or not since 1960. It's a beautiful place to just sit down and reflect. I've known students both Catholic and not who just like to sit in there. You know? Have a moment away from the craziness of classes, and just daily life. Students can just take a moment to relax, to even just look at the artwork, or even just put in headphones and appreciate some alone time.
We have our weekly Mass, which is Sunday at 11 AM. So it's not too early and not too late in the evening, which I think is great. Because then sometimes it's hard to wake up at 8 AM if you're to do that. For classes, all students are welcome both to like the Sunday Masses, as well as like any other service.
We're very blessed to have the Trinitas Chapel here at the University of Providence. And it's such a big part of our history. The chapel was actually designed by a Sister of Providence, who graduated from our university. The chapel opened in 1960. And since then, has really been this spiritual home for our community.
It's where we come together for those great celebrations of joy, but also for those moments where we just need to be together. And I think that's what's so beautiful about having a space like that, that wasn't just built by some outside group. It was literally put together by the hands of our own foundresses, the Sisters of Providence, our own students, and alums. And I think that's what makes Trinitas Chapel such a unique and beautiful place for us.
I think faith to the University of Providence is, as for myself, just a huge foundation for not only like what we believe in, but just how we function. Personally, in my life, it's just what's helped me keep going on, keep trucking along, even through whatever trials and troubles that I'd be going through. But also as a way to be thankful for all the good things that have happened in my life as well.
Faith is central to who we are. It was faith that led the Sisters of Providence to Montana in 1864. It was faith that brought them to Great Falls. It was faith that led them to want to open a school where students can encounter that loving God. Faith isn't just something that we participate in. It's who we are. It's how we live. We're called to be a revelation or a revealing of God's love. And that's what we strive to be at the University of Providence.
